April 12: “Learning to Love and Honor Your Body”

beauty-1“The body is a sacred garment. It’s your first and last garment, it is what you enter life in and what you depart life with, and it should be treated with honor.” Martha Graham

We women have such a love hate relationship with our bodies, don’t we? We envy the best features of another while discounting our own positive attributes. We wish we had Sally’s eyes or Megan’s legs, and we fail to appreciate and be grateful for our own unique qualities.

We all have them. Each and every one of us has been blessed with gifts that make us who we are. If you look critically at some who you find especially attractive, you may be surprised to realize that there really isn’t anything particularly outstanding about them compared to someone else – what makes them appear so spectacular is the fact that they feel spectacular, from the inside out.

“If you can learn to like how you look, and not the way you think you look, it can set you free.” Gloria Steinem

Part of what can make you feel beautiful is to allow yourself to be your authentic self, inside and out. Don’t buy in to the fad of the moment, but choose clothing and accessories that make you feel like you. You will enjoy them much more, and your wallet will thank you.

Part of my authentic being is to make people feel good about themselves. That is what has led me to work with Mary Kay Cosmetics and lia sophia jewelry – it is an opportunity to help women feel beautiful. While they are working to find that confidence that comes from within, I can give them a little boost from the exterior.

“Choose to consciously love and honor the sacred garment Spirit provided for this lifetime’s journey.” Sarah Ban Breathnach

I hope that as you are traveling this Simple Abundance path you are finding that you can love and appreciate who you are, who you were created to be, and that you are a unique individual placed here to share your gifts with the world. As this happens, the glow that rises up from your soul will allow your true beauty to shine for all to see, and you will know how absolutely beautiful you are.

Shalom!
